Dragon Wing Begonia
A workhorse in the summer garden, Dragon Wing begonia would be worth planting for its beautiful foliage even if the plant never flowered. Blooms of rich red or deep rose keep coming all summer. It pairs well with fine ferns and other plants that highlight the handsome foliage. Try it in flower beds, window boxes, containers, and hanging baskets in shade or sun. In the South and Southwest, it appreciates some afternoon shade.
Although tolerant of dry conditions, Dragon Wing will do best in moist, well-drained soil. The more sun it gets, the thirstier it will be. Feed every two weeks with a liquid food. If the leaf edges turn reddish, it needs more water and fertilizer.
